You could probably use more RAM, but adding RAM will have zero affect on slowness caused by a seven-year old mech drive. However, those numbers are glacial compared to what a factory SSD can post (iMac 27" 5K 2017 1 TB Apple SSD) Its scores in the report are excellent for a drive with those specs: That was fine with older OS versions but most Macs with mech HDs are now struggling with newer OS versions that seem optimized for solid-state drives (SSD). You have a known bottleneck in the mechanical hard drive:ĭisk0 - APPLE HDD ST1000DM003 1.00 TB ( Mechanical - 7200 RPM) However before executing the process please backup the computer to safeguard your data. This type of install will not affect your data or apps, it will only fill in missing pieces of Mac OS that were damaged by CMM. This MUST be fixed!!!!! Please restart the computer in the Recovery Partition (hold down Command + R on startup) and then install Mac OS. Next, you have managed to disable Apple's security. Then restart in Safe Mode per the directions in Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac and then restart normally. Please locate the developers uninstall instructions for CleanMyMac and follow to the letter. Yes, however, all my MacBook Pro's (as of now) are Intel based and are still much, much faster than the same MBP's running macOS Big Sur!
